Welcome to my blog! My name is Susan. I’ve been happily married to Doug since 1992 and we are blessed parents to teenagers Josh and Julia…as well as a neurotic Bichon Frise named Buddy. I am a native Pittsburgher (and proud Steelers fan!) but I love living in the mountains of New Hampshire. We’ve also lived in CT, RI, and south Florida.
I am a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. I have a B.A. in English and an M.Ed with a specialization in Rehabilitation Counseling. Before becoming a full time mom, I worked in both a community mental health center in PA and an AIDS Project in CT.
I was a homeschooling mom for 11 years until both kids entered the local high school as freshmen.
I am very active in my local church, where I help lead Bible studies and serve as a mentor for the Mom To Mom program.
I absolutely treasure my friendships. I am a voracious reader and I love hiking, the mountains and the ocean, traveling (especially trips back to my hometown), a good laugh, Cold Stone Creamery, the sound of my kids making music, and my photography classes.
The absolute joy and greatest adventure of my life is knowing Jesus Christ as my Savior. I will be writing from a Christian perspective. Recently, He has been teaching me how to treasure the time I have been given, to celebrate the beautiful gift of life. This blog will allow me a space to document His many and wondrous graces to me.
Life can be hard…but God is good.
Thanks for stopping by!
i just happened upon your blog. Okay well really God directed me here. I am looking on the net for quotes and inspiration for my ONE LITTLE WORD scrapbook. My word for the year is PRAISE. Anyway…I loved reading your words and the bible verses you used and I just wanted to say thank you. I am a Christian woman living in Port Moody British Columbia, I am a wife, a mom and I too treasure my friendships. Thanks for sharing your heart. It has been awesome reading your blog. I’ll be back 😀
Hi Sheri!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog and contact me! I am so glad that you have been blessed. I love that “praise” is your one little word for the year. May 2012 unfold as a year filled with many praises to our beautiful Savior!
Blessings to you,
Susan
I didn’t see “and I love to cook” anywhere in there.
